4th Fun!

Louisiana Boil...
Consists of red potatoes, tiny onions, shrimp, crab, sausage, and corn on the cob...boiled in a cajun, creamy goodness. Then, dumped onto table (we added BBQ ribs) and you go-to-town. So good and fun to eat.

Bear Lake:)

Just the boys and I (plus Jordan) took off to Bear Lake right after I got out of school Wednesday....and it was the best! Even though it rained and was colder than butt, it was fun to get away and have some down time together. Seemed like forever to get there, we stopped in Layton to eat and went to the Cheese Factory in Logan. A little sports trivia in the car made the last leg go a little faster. Q: Steve Nash is to basketball as _____________is to baseball?. A: Pedroia (sais Blake). Sound a bit subjective? Blake and Jordan managed to get in some golf, we checked out the boardwalk/park, got some shakes, made good food, went swimming, played games, and even made bracelets with our fave team colors. The boys were so impressed with themselves. Cooper said, "Mom, thanks for doing that with us. Im so glad we came here because Dad would have made us clean and he couldn't teach us how to make bracelets." We got the NBA finals' game in and still have to listen to Blake, "why should I care? I want it more for Lebron than he does for himself!" Minnetonka Cave didn't work out like we wanted.... wadda ya do with Utah weather? You can't control it.

Since we couldn't go to the outdoors...the outdoors came to us! Still made S'mores

We made pizza and Cooper seems to think it tastes better when he makes it...."Im the best cooker Mom!" But really, the best one was the buffalo chicken with celery/onion/blue cheese/ relish on top...that I made! YUM

Vegas Baby....Vegas!

Nothing like an impromptu trip to Vegas. How cool is it that we can hop in car and drive a mere 5 hours to get there? It was such a fun trip with the kids. What better place to teach life lessons than vegas? Walking the strip, going to Freemont St., checking out the different hotels, going to Pawn Stars pawn shop, shopping and eating lots of good food:) It takes all kinds folks! And Cooper took everything in like a sponge!

Halloween

Aunt Kristen and cousin Bailey are so awesome to create a Halloween party for us. We made caramel apples, found body parts in brains, eyeball pong, halloween bingo....you name it! On Halloween we went to their house, Bailey and Tonje took the boys trick or treating. It was pouring rain and cold....but they did it anyway. Thanks goodness!!! Because, what would we do without a pillowcase FULL of sugar waiting to rot our teeth and cause mental mayhem?

Yuba Lake

Our last fun activity until school begins. Cooper will be in 1st grade going full time. Chase in 5th and both in a brand new school about 10 houses from ours. Blake will be a sophomore in high school this year. I started to cry the other day when I thought about having only 2 more summers with him. I am going to relish every moment. I am so blessed with these amazing boys. The year gets so hectic with work, school, sports, etc. that sometimes we forget to stop and take in the moments that are shaping our lives now. It's easy to get sidetracked and caught up in trying to get through the day or week, waiting for something later. When, in fact, everything that is happening now are the opportunities we have to learn, love, enjoy and influence the ones around us. Have a great school year people!

Even Better than camping! Fifteen min. and we are in the canyon, near the river, chill'in and making smore's. Great way to spend summer evenings. Thanks for the good times Buckleys!
