Champions!

Chase's team had the opportunity to play in the Triple Crown Slumpbusters tourney in Omaha.....AND catch some games at the College World Series:) Blake went along to support his bro (and by support his bro, I mean go to CWS). I couldn't be more jealous, sad, and a tad bitter because I couldn't go and was stuck in my last classes! However, knowing Chase had the time of his life and a great experience, makes me a happy mamma and that exceeds any dissenting feelings I may have:) To top it off...they made it to the championship game, and won! Blake had an awesome time too...I never win this game! Thanks to our team family for taking care of my boys, loving them, and showing them a great time! And to Grandma and Grandpa for driving ALL.THAT.WAY! I didn't mention that they ALSO got to stop and visit some awesome family friends, the Quirings....who live just outside of Omaha:) Blake better have took pics!

Yeah Tigers!

These guys have been together for 4 years...so special

Love you Chase...I am so proud of you:)

Way to go buddy!

You Know You're a Daddy When....

--the first time you see them you see parts of yourself and know you would move heaven and earth for them

--It doesn't feel right taking a nap on the couch unless you have a baby boy on your chest

--you change your son's diaper thinking it's a piece of cake and get pee'd on

--you wake up your son so you can wrestle...and he's only 6 months old

--time to yourself means throwing catch in the backyard

--going fishing means untangling fishing lines, lures, and rebaiting every cast...you your pole is still in the truck.

--a plate of nachos is always shared

--date night is popping homemade popcorn and watching Sandlot

--T-ball is the highlight of your week

--you laugh because you just yelled at your son for breaking one of moms decorations, while rough housing, and you did the same thing when you were his age and tried to fix it with a shitty glue job.

--money is saved for a "vacation" yet never used for intended purpose because it's spent on new bats, gloves, league fee's, basketball shoes, tournaments, uniforms, bags, etc.

--Your last vacation was your honeymoon...and when you tell people you are going on vacation, you mean a baseball or basketball tournament

--The last time you watched a game "for fun" was when you watched the Sandlot on "date night"

--you actually spend hours doing research and dedicate time/effort in not losing to your son in fantasy football

--socks aren't your own....they are shared ages 8-17

--your costco bill totals a mortgage pmt.

--your mortgage pmt. can't be made if you went to costco:)

--if you are not at work, you are driving boys to practice, coaching a game, refereeing so they can be in sports, making them dinner or doing their laundry.

--you can't remember the last time you were alone

--when, by some small chance or phenomenon, you and your wife are alone without the kids...you both think of big plans together....but fall asleep

--you can list all the sacrifices you have made for them, but realize none of them matter in comparison to the joy they have brought you and you would do it a million times over

--you wake up one day and your son is taller than you

--seeing them go through struggles and trials with school, friends, sports, family, etc...is both heart wrenching and profound in the manner in which they overcome

--and the number ONE way you know you're a daddy is when 3 little boys, once babies on your chest...call you and will only know you by your name...Dad

I am overwhelmed by the passion, dedication, and love Curt has for our boys. From day one, all he ever does is for them. I honestly can't remember the last time he has done something solely for himself. I have 3 very blessed boys and one awesome man! I love you, Curt:)

A couple of my fave pics of Curt and the boys....

I am happy for every moment i get to see Curt interact with his boys and how they learn so much from him...

Memorial Day.....the weather was beautiful, we had good food, and best of all...

I'm happy for moments sitting by the pool and watching the kids play ALL DAY...

In one day...

In one day, Coop had 2 baseball games...
In one day, Chase had 2 baseball games...
In one day, Blake had 3 basketball games...
In one day, we made it to ALL of them...
How you ask? Good question. All I know is, we've got this down! I have been asking myself lately, "at what point does it do more damage than good?" I'm confident that having the boys in sports, apart of a team, active, and involved is very worth it...but there has got to be a happy place. I LOVE watching them so much. I have seen Blake grow and learn so many valuable things through this. And, I see it happening with Coop and Chase too. Just as in life, we have to keep things in perspective and know when the cost is greater than the benefited outcome. I honestly can't remember the last time I sat and watched my boys play a basketball or baseball game with Curt. We are either split up taking a child (or two), or Curt is coaching. He coaches both Chases baseball and Blakes basketball teams. We text plays, hits, baskets, crappy calls, parent convo's, crowd crazies, coach decisions, etc to each other. We make it work. But, my desire would be to head out to a game together, grab a coke, find our spot to sit, and watch at least one of them play. I imagine what it would be like to have a real conversation about our boys with him. After all, he is the only other person on this earth who cares, knows, and adores the boys as much as I do. It would be nice to share... is all Im say'in.

A few shots of the day...

Chase batting righty (he usually bats left)...not bad:)

Gym Rats...watching blake play...a typical sitch

I'm happy for the busy moments that remind me I have happy, healthy, active boys...

Baseball

UVU vs UofU!!!

We COULD have witnessed history here! UVU was tied with a 32 winning streak. If they beat the Utes they would have been the only college baseball team to have won 33 games in a row. Chases baseball (Tigers) team and the Journey all went. Another thing happened that Coop (nor we) will ever forget. As a mom, it is both heartbreaking, and as a girl with a twisted sense of humor, hilarious at the same time. I have a nervous, maybe "cope in time of stress", laugh...But this killed me. It probably won't you, so Im doing this for journaling purposes:)

Here's Coop...just enjoying is $1 hotdog...happy as a bird with a frech fry.
Since we came with two groups, we went early because we were told is was hard to get seating and if you didn't get your hotdogs/snacks/drinks etc. early you would be in line FOREVER! And, we were not about to let Coop go without his ballpark hotdog(S)! Enter the need for a snow cone...Exit the window of opportunity with the short line. You know Coop...really really just had.to.have.a.snow.cone! So he goes to stand in line. It was the bottom of the 2nd inning and there was a good play to end it, so there was a lot of cheering. A minute later, Cooper comes to the seats sobbing....i mean uncontrollably crying...cant talk! He NEVER does this so Im thinking the worst and I became instantly sick. You know the feeling when you just wanna hold em, let em know you'll fix it, wish whatever happened away! Finally when he could get any words out at all, he said he was waiting in line forever (which he WAS) and when he heard the cheering, he thought he missed the whole game and changed his mind about the snow cone but was already waiting for so long! Later, he said he "felt stupid" because he wasted all that time for a snow cone when he wanted to see the game. The worst part, picture a cute, no teeth, sweaty, playful boy waiting patiently and anxiously in line, hearing the crowd, realizing what happened....and he was now 2nd in line!!! Seriously, he was next and he bailed. The funny part about this is 1)he didn't have enough money anyway so that would have sucked rocks and 2)he was also in the wrong line...sucked boulders! I felt sooooo bad! I totally should have went with him and checked out the sitch before I sent adorable Cooper to fend for himself (NOT like he was suffering, he ate like 3 hotdogs). I thought it was time to be a mom so I went up myself to get him one....and quickly came back because the line was easy 100 people. Bbbbut the good new is, it was only 2nd inning, still a lot of game left:)

Finally! Tigers Blood and Red Raspberry snow cone. Hope it was worth it buddy!

I'm happy for moments we get to spend with family and friends at the ballpark...
